As written on this post title, it is about a question. Question for me, for you, and for everyone who want to go inside to the real world of job-seeker. Yesterday, i’ve attended on GLADI RESIK WISUDA event on Graha ITS 10 Nopember Surabaya. On that event, some veteran members of IKA ITS came to this event, and share their experiences to us. His name is Mr. Januar SW, came from Bandung directly to Surabaya just share and give their presentation to us.
From his presentation, i’ve my own summarize about what should we have to be ready to the real Job-World is the point, and about from where we should start is a choice. On his presentation, he gave us 5 points that should we prepare to be ready, here are the points:
- Foreign Language.
This is the first point, just because communication is a vital part of our human living. If we can communicate well, then it should be hard for us to get in to the some environtment. And why its a foreign? Yes, as we are here on the Global Market Envrontment then we should have a language that all global markets used.- Hard Skill and Competency.
This is a skill that matched with our dicipline. For example if we are an IT engineer, so we must have its skill and knowledge about IT related. Or maybe if we are an Electrical Enginer, we must have skill and knowlegde about electrical.- Network.
As a humanity, we should have much and much more peoples that networked with us. Because, when we need help or something that we can’t do it, then that people can help us to do that. Just for simple case, when we searching for job but there is no job information availabe, we can contact our relation just need to know if there is a job or vacancy on their office.- Enterpreneurship.
Is a on of three soft skills. With this soft skill we are doesn’t think about how we can work for others, but how we can have our own business.- Fighting Spirit.
As the last point, doesn’t mean it is the most not important, but it is the most important of that point above. Because with spirit we can do, we can step ahead to do more and more. If we still doesn’t have four points above, we should have this point. Because the spirit can burn our mind to get and accomplished that four points above.
